* Student research published in this journal are studies that are recommended by their respective departments for publication and/or those that have been recognized in local, regional, and/or international research fora. These papers are condesed versions of the original, which can be read in full at the SLSU Library. The papers are likewise reviewed by a duly constituted oral examination panel composed of a chairperson (a person who specializes on the topic), and two members (either an external panel, and/or a faculty of the program). These papers underwent technical and language editing by the journal editorial board prior to publication.

**The papers marked Student-Faculty Research Collaboration, on the other hand, are edited versions of the original written by the student, who serves as the primary author(s). The faculty, who serves as the co-author, is the research adviser of the student. With the consent of the student, the faculty, who worked closely with the journal editors, enhanced the paper submitted by his/her advisee to make the paper of publishable value.
